History
1990s
In the early 1990's, Sonja Staines and her daughter, Liza Pollok,
relocate to the United States, bringing with them the Australian
ballet syllabus, the Sonshine Christian Ballet Syllabus. Soon afterwards,
the Sonshine Christian Dance school is opened.
1998
The Sonshine Theater Company is formed as a non-profit entity, a spin-off of the Sonshine Christian Dance school and the result of a vision to present a professional level of Christian dance expression and wholesome theater to the general public.
2002
Ballet Excelsior is officially formed by Liza Pollok as the performing arm of the Sonshine Theater Company.
2003
Ballet Excelsior celebrates its first official performances, Saviour
and A Christmas Carol 2003.
