About the Sonshine Theater Company
The Sonshine Theater Company is a non-profit organization dedicated
to producing quality theatrical performances, presenting messages
of inspiration and hope, and creating an avenue of opportunity and
training for Christian performing artists.
The name "Sonshine" is derived from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland,
Australia, the home of STC founder Sonja Staines. Sonja Staines
brought to the United States the Australian ballet syllabus, the
Sonshine Christian Ballet
Syllabus, and directed its pioneering use in America through
the Sonshine Christian Dance
School. As both the school and syllabus gained acclaim, the
Sonshine Theater Company was established as a separate organization
as a public venue and outlet for Christian dancers.
The Sonshine Theater company is a non-profit organization as described
under Section 501 (c)(3) and is supported by its theatrical productions,
the Sonshine Christian Dance school, grants, and the generous patronage
of corporations, organizations, and individuals.
